Much Shelist Receives National Recognition for Its
“Cut Loose” Advertising Campaign

The Only Chicago-Based Law Firm Honored among Nearly 350 Entries

CHICAGO – March 19, 2008 – Chicago-based Much Shelist received an Honorable Mention in the “Advertising Campaign” category at the Legal Marketing Association’s 2008 Your Honor Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on March 13. The firm – recognized for its “Cut Loose” print advertising campaign – was the only Chicago-based law firm honored by the association, which evaluated nearly 350 submissions to determine winners in 19 categories.

The “Cut Loose” print advertising campaign, which communicates the firm’s independence and commitment to serving the middle market, was recognized because it “successfully staked Much Shelist to a middle-market niche in Chicago and positioned the firm as an ideal alternative to the megafirm.”

“We are very proud to have this creative work acknowledged by our peers in the national legal community,” said David T. Brown, Chair of the Management Committee at Much Shelist. “The ‘Cut Loose’ campaign successfully communicates our passionate focus on being the full-service law firm of choice for middle-market businesses throughout Chicago.”

The campaign included a series of four ads targeted at both potential clients and lateral recruits. The ads ran in Chicago print publications in late 2007 and early 2008. The campaign effectively advanced an ongoing legal industry debate about the relative merits of law firm mergers, the megafirm model and the benefits offered by independent firms to clients of all sizes.
