Kurt M. Carlson and Martin J. Wasserman Join Much Shelist

Carlson Brings Deep Experience Representing Creditors
CHICAGO – October 15, 2008 – Chicago-based law firm Much Shelist announced the addition of Kurt M. Carlson as an Equity Principal and Martin J. Wasserman as an Associate in the Creditors' Rights, Insolvency & Bankruptcy practice group. Both attorneys were most recently with Tishler & Wald, Ltd. in Chicago.
Carlson, who will serve as Chair of the firm's Creditors' Rights, Insolvency & Bankruptcy practice, represents creditors, assignees and financially distressed businesses of all sizes in complex business litigation, workouts, insolvency proceedings, bankruptcy reorganization cases and bankruptcy liquidations. Over nearly 20 years of practice, Carlson has handled a broad range of matters, including contract disputes, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial real estate foreclosures, Uniform Commercial Codes sales, lender liability and commercial contract claims, fraudulent conveyance, nondischargeability claims and preference actions. He also works with clients to develop practical solutions to business problems.
Wasserman, who concentrates his practice on commercial bankruptcy and litigation matters, advises clients on loan workouts, debtor-in-possession issues, receiverships and other areas related to business reorganizations. He regularly prepares and files motions, and has successfully conducted and defended deposition sessions involving litigation under the Uniform Commercial Code and other commercial matters.

Carlson holds a J.D. degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a B.A. degree from Michigan State University. Wasserman holds a J.D. degree (with high honors) from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.S. degree from Miami University.
