
Edward D. Shapiro Named to Board of Directors of
Center for Conflict Resolution
Edward D. Shapiro, a principal in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR). Involved with CCR for approximately six years, Ed serves as a volunteer mediator and trainer, and is currently a member of the Peer Review Committee and Ad Hoc Policy Committee. The 24-member Board of Directors consists of lawyers, non-lawyers, judges, and former presidents of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) and the CBA's Young Lawyers Section.
In his litigation and counseling practice, Ed assists clients in resolving a wide range of disputes, including general commercial litigation matters such as contract enforcement, restrictive covenants, unfair competition, trade secrets, employment discrimination, business torts, legal malpractice, trusts and estates, commercial foreclosures, product liability, construction and bankruptcy. A highly experienced mediator, he has undergone training by a number of prominent alternative dispute resolution organizations and programs, including the CCR, the Cook Country Mandatory Arbitration Program in Illinois, Metropolitan Mediation Services in Massachusetts and the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin.
