AT WORK
Michael D. Burstein, a member of the firm's Real Estate practice group and the Financial Crisis Response Team, represents clients in a broad range of commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions. Michael's commercial real estate practice includes acquisitions and dispositions; commercial, office and industrial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants; condominium project development, including registrations under the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act; and financing and refinancing on behalf of property owners.
Michael also counsels community, regional and national banks in a variety of real estate financing transactions, including mortgage, construction and syndicated lending; loan workouts; and deed in lieu of foreclosure transactions.
IN THE PROFESSION
Michael is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American Bar Associations. While in law school, he served as Associate Note and Comment Editor for the Northwestern University Law Review. He was also designated an Illinois Rising Star in 2009.
Michael has authored articles and lectured on various real estate law topics, including title and survey review and analysis and the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act.
