Norman A. Shubert handles a wide range of commercial transactions for family and closely owned businesses, including tax and corporate planning and the sale and acquisition of businesses.
Norm also provides estate plans for large and medium-sized estates, making creative use of tax-saving techniques to minimize estate and inheritance taxes. He establishes trusts and administers estates using simplified administration.
In real estate matters, Norm provides a full range of services to general and trade contractors, developers, office building owners, banks and institutional lenders. He assists insurance companies and policyholders in resolving coverage issues and defending professional liability claims.
IN THE PROFESSION
A member of the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections), and the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, Norm serves on the CBA's Trust Law Subcommittee. He is also a member of the panel of arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association.
Norm has been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the area of closely and privately held business law (2006-2008).
IN THE COMMUNITY
Norm is a past member and former president of the Highland Park-Deerfield District 113 School Board. He has been a Director of the First Bank of Highland Park since 1982, and has served as Trustee and President of the Charles and M.R. Shapiro Foundation since 1988.
