AT WORK
Pamela Mitchell Belyn is an associate in the firm’s Business & Finance practice group, where she counsels corporations and individuals on a wide range of legal, policy and business issues. She also assists clients in the development of contracts, operating policies, procedural improvements and other sophisticated strategies to guard against myriad legal risks.
With a primary focus on the middle market, Pamela counsels companies in the structuring, tax planning and other aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions. She regularly performs buy-side and sell-side due diligence on large, complex transactions, often utilizing less costly electronic data delivery methods. Pamela also represents clients on issues such as shareholder buyouts; financial and tax planning strategies; forming new corporations, partnerships and joint ventures; and negotiating purchase and sale contracts.
Pamela frequently counsels entrepreneurs and privately held companies, as well as women- and minority-owned businesses. She has particular experience in helping clients obtain certification as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) or Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
Pamela serves as Co-Chair of the Much Shelist Women's Initiative.
IN THE PROFESSION
In addition to her work on behalf of clients, Pamela speaks before professional organizations on various aspects of corporate and employment law. She has authored articles on due diligence, buy/sell (shareholder) agreements and employee hiring practices.
Pamela is an active member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations. .
