Courtney E. Mayster is a Principal in the firm's Real Estate practice group, where she focuses on commercial and multifamily residential real estate law, as well as commercial real estate finance. Courtney regularly counsels buyers, sellers, lenders and borrowers in all aspects of real estate development, financing transactions and condominium development and conversion.

A licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois, Courtney analyzes, negotiates and drafts documents relating to real estate development, acquisitions and dispositions, financing and construction lending, including loan papers, purchase and sale agreements, and title and survey documentation. She is well versed in the Interstate Land Sales Act and has significant experience with the registration of multifamily housing developments with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Courtney represents lenders and borrowers, including commercial and residential developers and major financial institutions, in loan restructuring and workout matters. In addition, Courtney advises developers in negotiations with municipalities for redevelopment agreements and TIFs and counsels business owners, including restaurants, on their corporate and licensing needs.

Courtney is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and Commercial Real Estate Executive Women of Chicago (CREW Chicago). She was named a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers (2009-2012).

IN THE COMMUNITY

Courtney serves on the Alumni Board of Directors for the Latin School of Chicago and the Illinois Education Foundation Associate Board. She also supports a variety of other charitable and civic organizations.
