Julia A. Steinway

AT WORK
Julia A. Steinway is a member of the firm's Wealth Transfer & Succession Planning group, where she counsels clients on all aspects of estate planning, trust administration and probate matters. Julia concentrates her practice on designing and implementing estate plans and leveraged wealth transfer techniques for individuals and families. Her work also includes representing fiduciaries in the administration of estates and trusts, the preparation of federal gift and estate tax returns and the formation and operation of private foundations.
Julia serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Associates Committee.
IN THE PROFESSION
Julia is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and serves on its Corporate Practice Committee, Estate Planning Committee and Tax Law Committee. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. In 2011, she was designated a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers.
Julia assisted in authoring "Handling Closely Held Business Interests and Other Special Assets" for the 2007 Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education publication Estate Planning for Illinois Attorneys: The Basics and Beyond.
While in law school, Julia was awarded the Dean's Merit Scholarship and held an editorial position on the staff of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.
