Matthew M. Kovalcik

AT WORK
Matthew M. Kovalcik concentrates his practice primarily in consumer financial services litigation. Specifically, Matt represents the interests of banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, and related industry clients against claims brought under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), as well as state consumer fraud statutes. He has previously represented national and community banks in debt enforcement and mortgage foreclosure matters, and has experience in a broad range of commercial litigation and transactional matters, from zoning disputes and tort defense to the formation of non-profit entities.
Matt serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Associates Committee.
IN THE PROFESSION
Matt is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association, where he serves on the Civil Practice Committee.
While in law school, Matt served as a judicial extern for Justice Margaret O'Mara Frossard of the Illinois Appellate Court.
