PRACTICE GROUPS
AT WORK
Stephen P. Kikoler concentrates his practice in real estate-related litigation, with an emphasis on construction (including mechanics lien claims) and title insurance defense work. In addition to his dispute resolution work, Steve assists clients with a range of transactional construction work. His clients include several of the major title insurance companies, as well as companies whose businesses are in, or related to, the construction industry.
IN THE PROFESSION
Steve is a member of the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys.
Steve is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (serving on the Mechanics Lien Subcommittee of the Real Property Law Committee), the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, in which he is a member of the Section on Construction Law. He was a member of the Joint CBA-ISBA Committee that drafted the comprehensive revisions to the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act that were enacted in 2005 and the amendment to section 23 that was enacted in 2007.
Chambers USA has recommended Steve as a "Leader in Construction Law" (2003-2007). He has been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the area of construction law (2004-2012) and has been designated an Illinois Super Lawyer (2005-2012), an honor given to the top 5% of attorneys in the state. Steve is also listed in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Best Lawyers in America.
