Steven L. DeGraff, a member of the firm's Management Committee and its Financial Crisis Response Team, represents developers, owners, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses and institutional lenders in a full range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing and leasing transactions. He also represents real estate developers in all aspects of condominium law. Steve has extensive experience in a broad range of financial distress issues, which include negotiating and facilitating favorable results in workouts of financially troubled loans.

As a legal and business counselor, Steve is committed to helping clients initiate, develop and close deals that further their business objectives. With prior experience as a trial attorney, he regularly draws on his dispute resolution experience to help clients identify potential risks, negotiate favorable terms, and document contracts and other transactions with an eye toward minimizing future litigation.

IN THE PROFESSION

Steve is a regular speaker on a broad range of topics, including workout issues and financial distress. A member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations, Steve has also been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the areas of commercial litigation, commercial real estate law and real estate finance (2008-2011).

In addition to coaching youth baseball teams, Steve supports a broad range of civic and charitable organizations.
