Q&A with Much Shelist's Michael Viner

Michael B. Viner, a Principal in the firm's Real Estate Law group, was featured in a Law360 Q&A in November 2011 about his practice and career. 

Excerpt:

 

Q: What aspects of your practice area are in need of reform and why? 

 

A: Real estate law has been around since at least the middle ages, so I think we have worked out most of the major kinks. One disturbing recent trend in the industry has been the move by Chicago and other municipalities to pass laws that hold lenders responsible for maintaining properties on which they hold a mortgage but have not foreclosed.
