TMA's Chicago/Midwest Chapter Honored for Excellence under Norman B. Newman's Leadership
The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) has been named as the 2008 Chapter of the Year. Criteria for chapter awards include accomplishments in membership, programming, community service, communications and administration.
Norman B. Newman, a Principal in the firm's Creditors' Rights, Insolvency & Bankruptcy group and head of the Financial Crisis Response Team, served as President of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter during 2008, when it reached new heights in membership growth, quality programming, innovative events and networking opportunities for each segment of its membership. Among the first TMA chapters to be founded in 1990, it is also TMA's largest, with 1,122 members. In 2008, the chapter recruited 225 new members in the Chicago and Milwaukee area by focusing on underrepresented segments and offered a full slate of 44 educational and networking opportunities, including a regional conference with three other chapters.
