Much Shelist has been named one of the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces for the sixth consecutive year. This award recognizes the most dynamic and supportive local employers based on results of an employee survey that measures several aspects of an organization. Much Shelist was one of only two law firms to make the 2017 list. According to employee feedback, the firm’s strengths include a work environment that fosters inter-departmental cooperation and overall support of and alignment on strategic direction.

The Top Workplaces list recognizes local companies of all sizes based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection.

“Much Shelist’s biggest asset is its culture, which we maintain and foster with a great sense of pride,” said Mitchell S. Roth, Managing Partner. “A big part of that culture includes surrounding ourselves with colleagues who are passionate about making the firm, the community and the world a better place, celebrating diverse ideas and working for clients who share in our ideology. More than 45 years after our founding, the entire team—from principals to paralegals—continues to ensure that Much Shelist remains an inspiring and motivating workplace.”

The following were anecdotes collected from Much Shelist attorneys and staff during this year’s survey process:
