Much Shelist Hosts Health Care Regulatory Seminar

Much Shelist hosted a half-day seminar titled “Regulation & Risk in Today’s Health Care Environment” on Thursday, October 26 at the Ivy Room in Chicago. Linda Wawzenski, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, kicked off the program with an enlightening discussion of health care fraud and tips for interacting with the Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney’s offices. Our audience of business owners, C-level executives, risk managers, in-house counsel and other decision makers within pharmacy providers, long-term care providers, physician practices and health systems also heard from other thought leaders about the business, legal and regulatory issues facing health care providers today. Bryan Schneider, Secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, closed this year’s program with a candid look at the state of occupational licensure in Illinois and IDFPR’s efforts to streamline operations without compromising public safety.
